New Year, New Day!

Here we are once again making New Year’s resolutions. A pattern of planning to make changes in the coming year and saying goodbye to the previous year as it passes at the stroke of midnight. One thing we must remember about making changes is that we don’t have to wait until New Year’s Eve to figure it out. Making changes in the new year means making a difference with every moment you wake up - to a New Day! Let’s start with the small stuff. Take time to reflect on the day you just lived and how you can make a better tomorrow.

Not everyone gets a new day so accept it as a gift, be grateful, treat it with respect and spend it wisely. By December 31, 2017 you may be blessed enough to look back to the 365 chances you were given to make changes, do something good, accomplish a huge task, dream a little bigger, love more, take that walk on the beach, go to Paris, lose a few pounds, fix your finances, beat a sickness, get that new job, have a baby, get married, move to a new town - whatever your so-called resolutions may be. It’s a given that you will experience hard times, disappointments and heartaches along with triumphs, joys and celebrations.

As for myself, I will continue to walk closely with my Heavenly Father by staying on the path of life He designed for me. I’ve tried it other ways and have learned hard lessons. Nothing will happen to me this year (good or bad) that He isn't there with me. He filters everything that comes my way and deals me nothing I cannot handle. I am confident in my future and most thankful for this past year of blessings and lessons learned that continue to mold me into a better person.

Each new day and new year is what YOU make it. It starts with YOU! And it starts with TODAY! Praying you have many days filled with God’s blessings. Have a happy and safe New Day and New Year!

“May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4
